Jawas 2

When Matt and I get the babies out of the tub, we wrap them in towels and cover their heads so just their little faces peek out.  We started calling them Jawas.  Remember the Jawas from Star Wars?

The babies will get out of the tub and demand, “Jawa!  Jawa!”  We throw towels over their little heads and they wander the house, bumping into walls and each other.  Being a Jawa is a big deal to the babies.

Matt is standing here telling me to tell you about Wookipedia, the Star Wars Wiki.  Does that do anything for you?

China Adoption Gotcha Day Video

It is a tradition in the China adoption community to make a music video of the moment your child is placed in your arms.  When I heard Little Wonders by Rob Thomas I knew I had the perfect song to sum up the entire experience.

This one is my favorite of all the videos I have produced.  Enjoy.

Conversations with Miss Boo- Liver Tea revisted

Miss Boo (4) and The Artificial Twins (1.5) were staring out the window at the neighbor’s flag when the following conversation took place.

Miss Boo
: See that, Babies? That’s the American flag! Can you say flag?

Babies: Fwag!

Miss Boo: That’s right! That’s our flag. We live in St. Louis in the state of America. Can you say America?

Babies: Yeah-ca!

Miss Boo: America is a republic where we stand. There’s liver tea. That’s a statute. Say statue!

Babies: Choo choo!

Miss Boo: Now remember, if there’s a meteor shower, come inside. Don’t go outside. You’ll get smacked in the head with a meteor and you will die.

Babies: Out-shyyy! Out-shyyyyyyy!!!

Conversations with MIss Boo- nightmares

One thing I love about this blog is being able to share some of my favorite photos. Miss Boo, age 13 months, holding up 100 feet of network cable.

Hard to believe that little baby now holds conversations like this one:

Boo: I have bad dreams.
Me: So do I.
Boo: What do you dream about?
Me: Scary things.
Boo: Scary things?
Me: Yep.
Boo: Like Monsters? And hummingbirds?
Me: (Laughing)
Boo: And robins?
Me: Boo, are you afraid of nature?
Boo: Yeah. I sure am.
